Allinson 1993, p. 86
singer in the chapel, Hue was first mentioned in November 1452 but he was not cited as a new member (119) (see also Messire Jehan below). He was paid wages of 6 escus a month from November 1452 to October 1454 (119-20, 122, 126, 129, 133, 139, 142). In addition he received 10 escus in April 1453 for a mourning robe on the death of Isabelle (146). He was paid the same sum for robes for winter 1453 (153) and May 1454 (159), and also in May 1453 for a horse to travel with Ren? from Anjou to Provence (172). Hue can also be found in the records of the chapel of Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy: in 1451 he was a chaplain there and in 1452 he is listed amongst the clerks.
Messire Jehan 41 On 10 December 1451 Jehan was cited as a new singer and paid 10 escus for a robe matching those of the other singers (41). No ref erence is made to wages for him. He may have been at the chapel for only one event, or he may be identical with one of the other singers. The most likely possibility is Jehan Hue, as all the other Jehans are mentioned prior to this date: Jehan Hue began receiving wages in November 1452.
