Magister Judocus de Colvenare, priest, singer, and ordinary chaplain of the king (“venerabilis vir magister Judocus de coluenare presbiter cantor et capellanus ordinarius capelle domini nostri Regis ac capellanus capellanie in honorem et ad altare sancti Johannis baptiste in ecclesia
collegiata sanctj saluatoris blesis”), appoints Pascal Lesne procurator for the resignation of his chaplaincy of Saint-Jean Baptiste in the church of Saint-Sauveur, Blois, either simply or because of permutation with any suitable person
Executed in Blois; Witnesses: Simon Martineau, Jehan Henri
Document 53: 1507/8 Feb 9 (ADLC E743, f. 44r-v)
Magister Judocus de Colvenare, ordinary chaplain and singer in the chapel of the king (“magister
Judocus de coluenare capellanus ordinarius et cantor in capella domini nostri Regis ac
capellanus capelle sancti Iohannis baptiste in dicta ecclesia perpetuo fundate”), appears
before the chapter of Saint-Sauveur with letters of provision to the chapel of Saint-Jean
Baptiste, protesting that his revenues have been withheld during a dispute over possession of
the chaplaincy; Jehan de Montdoulcet, who had previously claimed the chaplaincy by
hereditary right, had resigned it in favor of Jehan Chedeville, student at the university of
Toulouse, before being summoned in the case; Chedeville had not attempted to take
possession of the chaplaincy for over a year; therefore the chapter allows Colvenare to take
possession of the chaplaincy, who keeps his stall without protest and requests one or more
notarial acts to be drawn up as proof of his possession
Appendices: p. 12
Executed in the church of Saint-Sauveur, Blois; Witnesses: Jehan Loyson, Noel Foucher, Jehan
Rondeau, chaplains of Saint-Sauveur (“discretis viris dominis Johanne loyson nathali

Saint-Sauveur, Blois: Colvenare will remain the peaceful holder of the chaplaincy, all
revenues so far derived from the chaplaincy will remain with those who originally received
them, and each party will pay its own legal expenses (of which many remain)
